Sharon Bray, Ed.D., is the author of WhenWords Heal: Writing Through Cancer (2006), a guide for the individual or writing group leader, and A Healing Journey: Writing Together Through Breast Cancer (2004), which chronicles the experience and insights gained from her own experience with breast cancer and her writing groups for cancer survivors. She also co-edited an anthology of cancer patients' writing, Learning to Live Again (2007) together with Patricia Fobair, LCSW, published by the Stanford University School of Medicine.
Sharon is often a featured presenter at cancer centers and conferences across the U.S. and has been leading expressive writing programs for men and women living with cancer for ten years. Her regular workshops are offered at Stanford Cancer Center in Palo Alto, CA and Scripps Green Cancer Center in La Jolla, CA. She teaches a professional development course in the uses of therapeutic writing at Pacific School of Religion each summer and is also a faculty member of the UCLAextension Writers' Program, where she teaches creative nonfiction.
